Cherokee County Endowment Fund Established
Under the leadership of Mr. Kurt Duryea, President, the tireless efforts of Mr. Dave Crum, Executive Director, and the work of dozens of volunteers, the Museum is being transformed as thousands of items are being catalogued and exhibited. Today, visitors are both amazed and overwhelmed by the range and span of years exhibited from ancient Native American cultures to what school was like before 1899 or the current Riverboat Exhibit capturing life before Weiss Lake Dam existed. And even though the focus is on the past, you can learn about upcoming events on Facebook or download a brochure at their website.

By establishing the Cherokee County Historical Museum Endowment Fund with the Community Foundation, the Museum and the City of Centre have taken another step in protecting and sustaining the area’s rich history. Friends and supporters can make donations in any amount, or name the Museum as a beneficiary in a will or trust. For more information contact the Museum or the Community Foundation.
