JSU Wellness Anniston Receives Foundation Grant

April 22, 2010– Anniston, Alabama, The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama has awarded a grant in the amount of $8,500.00 to JSU Wellness-Anniston. The support for this program is made possible through a grant from the Foundation’s Stringfellow Health Fund.

The program partners with agencies in the community who share their focus which is to improve the quality of life for area citizens. “Being awarded this grant was an honor that validates the need for the services we offer and demonstrates our ability to educate and improve the quality of life for those served”, says Fred Smith, Director.

“The Community Foundation’s grant making program provides funds to support area programs throughout Calhoun County,” said Ms. Eula Tatman, Vice President. “Partnering with the JSU Anniston-Wellness meets the Foundation’s mission, which is to encourage and expand permanent charitable resources dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Northeast Alabama.”

Individual programs offered the community are: Calhoun County Community Health Fair, Boys to Men, Wellness Walk, Single Mothers Seminars, Senior Aerobics, Silver Nutrition for life, Budget Friendly Meals, Men and Women Health and Wellness Seminar, and Health Screenings.
