Geographic Area of Service


The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama (CFNEA) is a qualified 501(c)(3) public charity recognized by the Alabama attorney general and the Internal Revenue Service. Like 750 other community foundations, the CFNEA is a family of funds that serve as a permanent endowment for the benefit of residents in its geographic area, namely Calhoun County and northeast Alabama.

Through a broad range of charitable options and planned giving vehicles, donors and their advisors can easily achieve their philanthropic goals. Moreover, donors benefit from the Foundation's combined assets, which greatly reduce investment and administrative fees. The professional resources and favorable tax deductions, makes the Foundation an ideal resource for individuals, families, businesses, religious and educational institutions and civic groups. 

We are a member of the Council on Foundations (http://www.cof.org/). In addition, we are registered with Guidestar (www.guidestar.org) and the Foundation Center (www.fdncenter.org); two national nonprofit tracking and reporting organizations.
